Kevin Durant Penthouse Views

By  |  1 Comment

Kevin Durant has been burning up the real estate market just as much as he has been burning up the court. Ever since his 2007 draft to the Seattle Super Sonics, Durant has kept himself very busy in the real estate market, both residential and commercial.

Kevin Durant Real Estate

Immediately after the Sonics signed him on in 2007, he purchased a contemporary, two-story home in Mercer Island, WA with ocean views, while it was still under construction. He held onto it four years after starting with Oklahoma Thunder – listing it in March 2012 for $2.799 million (TMZ).

After settling in with the Oklahoma Thunder, in 2011 he decided to purchase a home in Oklahoma City’s most luxurious gated community – Gaillardia. The home was similar in style to his Mercer Island property, purchased for $1.799 million.

2011 proved to be a big year for real estate investments after Durant snagged a $1.825 million, three-bedroom, 3,535-square-foot condo in Miami Beach. The views from his condo are nothing less than amazing, with panoramic views of the Port of Miami. His condo is believed to be the top floor penthouse, three floors above Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade (NewsOK). This vacation property is his hang-out of choice, as he is often spotted traveling around Miami Beach on a Segway by day and hitting the high-energy clubs by night, all throughout his off-season.

2013 is shaping up to be another major real estate milestone for Durant, as he delves into commercial property ownership (KD restaurant in downtown Oklahoma City – 2014 launch). Simultaneously he is going for another round of property musical chairs by selling his Gaillardia home and going for a condo in a fully-restored historic structure called Deep Deuce in Oklahoma City’s downtown “Bricktown” area. Durant seems to have his five-year plan fully set in motion: he signed on with the Thunder through 2016, opens a namesake restaurant, and moves to a residence only a few steps away from the restaurant.

Kevin Durant Sneakers

After taking a look at Durant’s Instagram account, it wasn’t hard to notice that real estate buying is not his only hobby. The Kevin Durant sneaker collection is also  something to contend with.  Durant has a massive sneaker collection which represents a conglomerate of styles from his Nike KD line. Since Durant takes a personal approach to styling and naming the Nike shoes, he commemorated his love for his home state of Maryland by creating Nike KD VI “Seat Pleasant” (released June 29, 2013) which pays tribute to the rec center where he honed skills as a pre-teen training for his Maryland AAU summer team. Not long after that style, came the Nike KD VI Maryland Blue Crab (released November 19, 2013); the sneakers are blue in color to pay tribute to his favorite Maryland food, and quite possibly his favorite food of all time – blue crab. When it comes to paying homage to Maryland, Kevin Durant holds nothing back. On September 5, 2011, he had the word “Maryland” tattooed from shoulder to shoulder on his upper back.

Baltimore Real Estate

If Kevin Durant set his sights on buying property in Maryland, he would most likely show interest in the penthouse at Silo Point Condominiums on 1200 Steuart Street in Baltimore’s Locust Point neighborhood. The residence offers birds-eye harbor and city views with large balconies. Durant would be drawn to the property for its waterfront location, spa, fitness room, and game room amenities.

Durant could just surprise us and do without the height of Silo Point and go for the top floor (6th floor) of Ritz Carlton Residences. Although the property is not as high as Silo Point, the amenities are perfect for a NBA superstar. Located on Baltimore Inner Harbor waterfront, some additional hard-to-resist features include room service, concierge, maid service, valet parking, storage unit, indoor pool, guest suites, theater, on-site marina, and a doorman for security. Though it’s not as tall as Silo Point, less units in the Ritz Carlton also means less neighbors – which is good for celebrities.

Must haves for a Kevin Durant real estate property (to fit his personality and lifestyle) is a comfortable guest quarters for his mother for extended stays, a huge walk-in closet to house his gigantic sneaker collection and fashionable clothes, and amazing penthouse views. Durant’s interiors are typically modern with iconic modern chairs and sofas, in brown tones and deepened reds. He loves to display athletic memorabilia and the awards he has collected along the way. Acquiring property for Kevin Durant is all about convenience and enjoying his incredible life – enjoying every moment of work and play.

What do you think about the Kevin Durant real estate five year plan? Will launching one KD restaurant be enough for him, or do you think he hopes to turn it into a national or even global franchise?

See you at the top!
