Beyonce Knowles excels at risk taking in regards to music and real estate. It can easily be said that Beyonce is one of the greatest vocal artists, dancers, and music entertainers of all time; calling her a triple threat is an understatement. She is one of the top earners in the industry; when Forbes listed Beyonce and music-mogul husband Jay Z as the Highest-Earning Celebrity Couple in 2013, with a combined income of $95 million (June 2012 to June 2013), the pair give new meaning to “power couple.” Without a doubt, from music to real estate, the world’s fascination with Beyonce will not slow down any time soon. Let’s take a look at what is fact regarding Beyonce real estate and what rumors have been swirling on the internet like a perpetually-spinning roulette table.

Beyonce Real Estate

2013 was a prolific year for Beyonce real estate rumors. If the rumor mills had their way, Beyonce would have purchased Cher’s Italian Renaissance mansion for $45 million in May 2013 (Vibe), Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch in February 2013, and a $5.9 Million Texas mansion for mom Tina Knowles in January 2013 (Huffington Post).

Scarsdale Beyonce Jay Z Rumor

The Scarsdale, NY property rumor in January 2012 seemed to begin the media’s fascination with Beyonce real estate preferences and purchases. The claim that new parents Beyonce and Jay Z took newborn baby Blue Ivy home from the hospital to raise away from New York City in a Scarsdale, NY colonial-style home turned out to be complete fiction, despite swarms of paparazzi outside the gated community for weeks hoping to get shots of the happy new parents and newborn baby (Scarsdale10583). FYI: local new sources are the best at reporting the truth in these matters, since they have closer access to official property records to confirm transfer of ownership.

Celebrities love the immediate influence of social media. Through it, they have the ability to personally set rumors straight with the stroke of a key. When it comes to setting the record straight on her real estate purchases, Queen Bey prefers radio silence; think about it – why would she want her true address passed around the internet. Real estate is one thing, but in regards to announcing her self-titled Beyonce visual album – fifth solo album of 14 songs and 17 videos – Beyonce’s social media channels were her sole promotional tools of choice (December 13, 2013). Billboard was confident enough to predict that the Beyonce 2013 album would bypass Taylor Swift’s Red (November 2012) as biggest debuting album by a female artist as well as snatch the titles of best debut week and best sales week, upon announcing that Beyonce’s 11th hour album and final industry blockbuster of 2013 sold 430,000 units on iTunes in just over one day. Beyonce maximized her time and energy while on the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour (2013). The R&B diva filmed many of the “visual album” Beyonce videos as the tour passed through fabulous international cities such as Paris, Sydney, and Rio de Janeiro. Since Beyonce plays just as hard as she works, she also took the opportunity to vacation in Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Beyonce carved out time while in Italy for an incredible luxury yacht vacation with Jay Z, in addition to exotic island adventures on the beaches of Brazil, Jamaica, and St. Tropez.

I think it is a fair observation to say that, for Beyonce, fabulous vacations balance a no-holds-barred work ethic. All it takes is one glance at Beyonce’s Instagram photos to see that she loves the beach. When you’re Beyonce, why wait for a vacation to visit the beach when you have enough resources to purchase or rent amazing vacation homes. When away from her sprawling New York City apartment (mainly used for work), Beyonce enjoys her $9.3 million waterfront home in Florida; as fabulous as that is, to switch things up a bit and to help 8 month old Blue Ivy enjoy her first vacation, Beyonce and Jay Z rented a home in the Hamptons (August 2012). The $43.5 million palatial beach-side estate of 31,000 square-feet, nine bedrooms, 11 1/2 bathrooms, and nine fireplaces, which sits on 31 acres of land, set the couple back $400,000 for one month’s rent in August 2012.

Baltimore Celebrity Homes

If Beyonce came to Maryland to purchase a home, she would enjoy a multi-million dollar mansion on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor off Key Highway for its waterfront location and breath-taking views of the Baltimore skyline. Like many other Baltimore celebrity homes, her home would require world-class amenities and top-notch security. Outside Baltimore, Beyonce may show interest in Ellicott City, Potomac, or Ocean City multi-million dollar waterfront or beachfront estates. Typically, Beyonce prefers Italian Renaissance or Mediterranean-style homes and interiors, two-story over one-story, and all of the amenities that money can buy. To feel like home sweet home, the home should include swimming pool, fireplace, theater, spa, gym, basketball or tennis court, separate guesthouse, garage that can hold up to eight to ten cars, round-the-clock security and/or police patrol, and a minimum of 7,000 square feet, and seven to eight bedrooms and full bathrooms.
