Rachel McAdams Residence in Row
Rachel McAdams is a humble Hollywood star, without many vices. She is a highly acclaimed actress with leading roles in films such as The Notebook and Sherlock Holmes, yet doesn’t even own a car. She lives in a Victorian style row house, which has many similarities to historic Baltimore Md homes. As her acting success takes her higher, she pushes even harder towards a simple life in Toronto’s The Annex neighborhood. Her life philosophy of balancing a larger-than-life experience of creating films with an ordinary day-to-day lifestyle seems to be working quite well for the Canadian-born actress.
Breakout Actress Rachel McAdams
McAdams is originally from St. Thomas, Ontario, where she practiced competitive ice skating at Elgin St. Thomas Memorial Community Centre, and got her acting chops at Original Kids Theatre Company and Sears Ontario Drama Festival (Travel.ca.msn.com).

Rachel McAdams caught her breakout role in 2004 as the malicious queen bee in Mean Girls, versus co-stars Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried (Rachel McAdams IMDB). The movie showed success at the box office by grossing $129 million worldwide (Box Office Mojo), and with the critics. Entertainment Tonight rated it 12th out of their ultimate list of Top 25 Greatest Ever High School Movies.
Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling
McAdams’s second major role came the same year with The Notebook. The brilliant thing about breaking it big in both 2004 films is that those of us who would never watch a high school flick like Mean Girls certainly noticed her in The Notebook! This cult film, in which she starred opposite Ryan Gosling, grossed $115 million worldwide and will probably live on as one of the greatest films and love stories of all time.
Wedding Crashers Maryland Location
Rachel McAdams filmed Wedding Crashers (2005) in Maryland. The main wedding reception scene was filmed at the Inn at Perry Cabin in Saint Michaels. At the palatial waterfront estate, McAdams’ co-stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson make the impulsive decision to crash a wedding to get access to the open bar and attractive women. A year later, Failure to Launch, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey, also filmed in St. Michaels, Maryland.
Rachel McAdams Roles
The actress went on to take major roles in Sherlock Holmes (2009/11), Midnight in Paris (2011), and The Vow (2012). More recently, she snagged a starring role in A Most Wanted Man with Philip Seymour Hoffman. The espionage thriller, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival (January 19, 2014), explores the real-life fears and paranoia in the post-9/11 world (Reuters). The main plot involves a Chechen Muslim illegally immigrating to Hamburg, where he gets caught up in the international war on terror (Rachel McAdams IMDB).
Rachel McAdams Toronto Annex
Rachel McAdams strays from the stereotype of a Hollywood actress with multiple celebrity homes, preferring a simple life as the owner of one home in The South Annex neighborhood in Harbord Village, Toronto, Canada. The late 1880s Victorian style home is a semi-detached row house with an extension in the back and a private backyard rooftop patio to enjoy the city view. Like other homes in the neighborhood, the home probably originally cost McAdams about $750,000 and has been renovated many times over the years (Toronto Curbed). She reportedly loves to garden and has some wild grasses in the front lawn. McAdams shares the home with her younger brother and gets around town on a bicycle with basket and horn, probably taking an occasional bus to get farther across town.
Ideal Rachel McAdams Home
Rachel McAdams would love a home in a quaint North Baltimore neighborhood. If the historic homes on Roland Ave or Charlcote Rd didn’t suit her, she may prefer to move closer to the heart of the city in a luxury semi-detached row house on Guilford Ave. Location aside, McAdams would ultimately need a 4,500-6,000 square feet home with large entry foyer, hardwood floors, fireplace, and large front porch with swing.
